NO 1. A BIT OF VIENNA

So before I get into detail, let me give you a general idea of What Vienna is and looks like. Yes, I must say that Vienna is a wonderful city especially at nights, when all these lights fill the city of Vienna, it is not only amazing but gorgeous. Except the fact that is freaking cold. Like to day it was -10 degrees so, you know, I felt like my hands were about to fall off. So here we go.

These pictures above show the place called Stephansplatz. It is the city centre of Vienna. Well let me say that it is not a huge ass place, but one thing that I am sure of is that this place is not that huge not that tiny, but neat and at night during WInter time, it is really beautiful. Since in the winter time, Vienna gets dark at around 5 oclock-ish, so not really alot of people want to hang out outside because it is FUH-reeezing. At night, you can see a lot of couples taking a night walk in this city centre because it is quite a romantic place. Some people play violins and other instruments on the street and that helps me feel like I'm in Europe.

Well, excuse me, but this is my little sister, standing with me outside in the cold. This is how you do in Vienna. A beenie hat, thick coat or jacket, scarf, boots. Yes, thats how we do, baby.

And this is the Vienna Opera house. This place is exactly near to the station of Karlsplatz, close to the city centre that I mentioned before. This is where (of course) you watch Operas. The tickets are usually high price, so people who only have cash can watch the shows. I myself do not really like opera songs, but I really do love the Opera house. At night, the lights will be turned on, and the Opera House would look exactly like a palace. Very gorgeous. If you come to Vienna, you must take a pic in front of this place.

This the the Stephansdom. This is one of the oldest Gothic era church in the whole europe. It is huge and when you go inside, the walls and the walls and the gold statues of the saints are marvelous. Since Austria is a Catholic country, you will see alot of churches in every streets. The churches and the old buildings in Vienna, is oen of the Austrian prides.

Now this is how most of the train stations in Vienna look like. It is very simple, a bit depressive looking, but the fact that it is simple makes the stations look unique. The station names' color are all depends on which lines. For example, my house station is in the U1 line, so all the U1 line stops names are all red. The U2s are purple, the U3s are orange, the U6s are brown. Plese don't ask me, why is there no U4?. Please, I don't even know the answer.

Most of the time, the trains in Vienna has never been over crowded unlike in Jakarta or any other busy cities. Vienna still uses the old ubahns (trains) but now they are making and using more of the new ubahns. Well, I prefer the new ones though, because during the summer, the new ubahns have air conditioner, but the old ones don't. Imagine the ones without air conditioner and filled with sweaty people...yuck.

So yea, this is all for the general idea of Vienna! Hope you can start having some kind of ideas about this city. Despite the cold weather, this city is the SHIT! Like during Spring and Summer time, you can hang out in the park and chill or do whatever you like there. I'll go into deep of the other stuff next blog, so be prepared you homosepiens!

Hugz,
Gamma
